There may be something wrong with instrument cluster. Are there any applicable trouble codes? Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free. My info says the gages will go through test at key on, from minimum to actual reading. The pcm sends signal to ipc for gages. The fuel gage will default to empty if the ipc or pcm detects a problem. If analog gage are you saying needle is on the wrong side of stop peg?
