Is the DRL module broken or are contacts stuck in some relay?

When it is dark outside the brake lights are always on; cruise will not come on. The electric brake module inside the cab is also now on and keeps clicking and reading out either a 0 or an OC. When the engine is shut off the rear brake lights stay on all night! While it was still dark outside I shined a flashlight on the Daylight Sensor for about 30 seconds and the brake lights went off. And of course, when the sun comes up the brake lights go out and the cruise begins functioning again.

Do I just replace the module or could it be some other component?
