transmission feels like slipping once in awhile

i have a 2004 chevy Z71 pickup 5.3 vortec automatic transmission. the truck feels like it has lost a lot of power and the transmission feels like it slips and every once in awhile when u come to a stop and go to take off the truck feels like it doesn't want to go!

Hesitates when shifting, truck feels like it has lost a a lot of power. Nice site :-)

Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid. It should be red or pink in color. And it shouldn't smell like it's burned. Next, check the fluid pressure. Check the catalytic converter.
