i have 2004 silverado 1500 i had to put my truck in 4 wheel drive but as soon as i tried hitting the 2wd button it would just flash and then the Auto 4 wheel drive would come on. Tried hitting 2wd it would flash then go right back to 4wd

check to see if encoder motor on tcase is working or one for axle. scan for codes as well
