I own a 2004 Chevy Malibu LS, which I recently changed the front plastic headlamps in. Now I have a fast blinking turn single problem. The interior turn single indicator lights and rear tail lights blink fast, and the front turn single lights don't blink at all. The problem is intermittent, and sometimes the single lights work fine all the way around.

I changed out the bulbs in the front single lights to the old ones to see if this would correct the problem, because prior to the plastic headlamp change the problem didn't exist, but still the problem continues.

Check the ground on the headlights to see if it is connected or corroded. It may be the flasher as well.

I checked the wire plug connections to both headlights, both are well connected and like brand new, with no corrosion or rust.

I have heard the flasher units, which on Malibus are one in the same with the hazard flashers, is common problem on these cars.

Do you know off hand if there hard to replace? I have heard from some it's a tough job, with a significant part of the dash needing to be dissembled. Others have said it's not too bad.

Thanks for any input.

I changed the 4 way flasher unit and the problem still exists. Then I noticed that the plug sockets, which came with the new headlamps, starting to brown and melt on the inside.

I called the company I ordered the headlamps from and they sent me a new pair. I installed them and the problem still exists.

I'm ready to give up and pay the big bucks for the local Chevy Dealer to diagnosis it.

I've tried everything I know to try.
