Why would my '04 chevorlet malibu smoke when cranked in the mornings? Plus I have to add water and/or coolant every 3 or 4 days but I do not notive or can find any leaks. Also, the temp never goes too far above the halfway mark and never runs hot.

This one seems to point toward the intake manifold gasket leaking, very common but easier to repair than the head gasket.

Thank you. Last night and twice today it takes a few minutes to crank. it turns over and tries to crank but cant. would this also have to do with the intake manifold gasket?

Yes, the intake gasket could also allow coolant into the combustion chamber and foul the spark plugs
