is the car screwed if the rods are knocking

Pulled into the parking lot,car died tried to start it up but wouldn't.popped the hood & for sum reason there wasn't ANY oil...how that happened i don't know....put sum oil in it & it still won't start.

YES SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE DESTROYED THE MOTOR. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GETTING A JUNK YARD MOTOR THAN HAVING SOMEONE GO IN AND REBUILD IT!

Pardon my language but o my flipping gosh... well luckily its not technically my car,but i thought it would be loud it didn't seem that loud...it needs the fuel filter changed but can't find no one to help do it & the car owner isn't able to afford sum one to fix it.

HOW MANY QUARTS OF OIL DID IT TAKE TO GET IT BACK FULL? AND NOW U SHOULDNT HAVE TO WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT THE FUEL FILTER SORRY ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM BUT ITS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK YOUR OIL EVERYTIME YOU GET GAS! IT DOES NOT TAKE BUT JUST A MINUTE.
