The pulley has play in it and is making a knocking or ticking noise does this mean the pulley is just loose needs replaced or is this a sign of the pump going out

The pulleys on those are solid steel or solid plastic they usually dont go bad if the pump is knocking then its bad.

When I took the belt off the pulley has play in it is it possible to tighten it back up
