My car will hesitate then kick in on first gear, could it be my tranny?

It might be but kind of doubt it, clean throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner. Check fuel pressure with a gauge most auto parts rent it. If it continues scan for codes

Thanks for the advice, I cleaned a lot of gunk out but now the doesn't run, it will not turn over

Check battery for condition including load test. Check all fuses under hood

Scan for codes then have a pro look at it as it may have engine damage.

Thanks for the advice, thanks to you I now will be replacing the throttle body because carb cleaner is the last thing to use on a throttle body as per real experts, so I will never be asking for your advice again

Choke cleaner not carb cleaner it doesn't hurt a thing some companies call it fuel injection cleaner but its' the same thing.
