where is the drain **** on the 2004 chevy impala?

It is possibly on the lower tank of the radiator, maybe left(driver) side. It is also possible that there is not one, some O.E. radiators did come with a drain valve. In that case, the lower radiator hose connection is the drain. There is a generic procedure in service info that says open the drain ****, but it shows no illustration.

OK, thanks. I could not find one. Opening the lower radiator hose does not seem like a viable way of flushing the cooling system by running water through the system. Oh, well....

You could drain the system, fill it with water and run till it heats, and then drain again to flush. Is it just a maintenance flush of the system that you are after? At 65K, a simple drain and fill with new coolant mix should be adequate.
