my car is not shifting into gear correctly and it makes a noise and i was told it was my transmission pump i dont know what it is

The tranmission pump creates pressure to move lubricant around the transmission and actuate different geras when solenoids are moved. If the pump goes bad shifting will suffer as the lower pressure can cause all kinds of problems in every gear.
It is driven by the notches on the torque converter which is attached to the drioveshaft.

It could deal with the front pump. Can you tell me better what it is doing?
