what would be wrong with this

car runs rough at idle and wants to stall but runs good otherwise and check engine light came on with running too rich code. no power loss. just started without any warning and trying to find a solution. checked plugs and replaced coil pack and still no change

Check for vacuum leaks. Spray carburetor cleaner at the junction of head and intake manifold and along all vacuum lines and fittings. The idle will change when the leak is found. Then have it scanned for codes. Too rich means too much fuel or not enough air.
