Replaced water pump and thermostat. I have no heat inside the car. Not sure if I put the thermostat in the proper position. The manual states to put the thermostat in spring first. I cannot find any clear illustration that depicts how the thermostat sits inside the housing. Inside the housing is a black plastic piece not sure what it does the haynes manual does not explain the purpose. Any help with pictures would be helpful.

I thought I remember how it went in. If the thermostat is good and is placed in the right way. Why is cold air coming out the vents? Am I missing something?

see if there's a plastic valve in 1 of hoses going to core. if vac line to it is ok and has suction when heat is chosen.
