I have an '04 chevy cavalier and it is leaking a little oil. it sat awhile before i bought it but they claimed to have done an oil change before i bought it, but according to the oil change sticker, it got its last oil change in sept of last year. so, my question is really why is my car leaking oil?

If I could inspect your car from here, I might be able to answer that but unfortunately, I cannot. The car is going to have to be physically inspected to determine where the source of the leak is.

Yup, gotta hold your computer closer to the car. :) Also, the old stickers on the windshield typically get removed when they detail the car before putting it on the lot for sale, and very often they don't put stickers on when they do oil and filter changes on trade-in cars. I never did at the dealership and few other people did either.
