2004 Chevrolet Aveo rear brake drums

Taking rear drums off: all in order lugs,tires, nuts on shaft spindle, locking keeper pin on shaft spindle, loosening brake adjustment counter clockwise, taping on drum with rubber mallet turning at the same time the drum slides off? What about the bearing on the shaft spindle inside the drum, do or should I use a wheel puller? Thanks Jerry

once you remove the nut and locking ring and remove it the whole drum assemble comes off the bearings will be in the drum assembly and may be able to be cleaned and repacked. see pic.
