suddently truck will not shift gears automaticlly. Can manually shift through all gears but auto will not work. No prior problems or issues. Any checks I can perform prior to taking to shop.

Check fluid levels, check plugs are plugged in, check fuses mainly drive train control module fuse. Good luck
