Rough suspension

I have a 2004 Cadillac escalade base model I feel that my escalade is not smooth like what a Cadillac is supposed to be...how do I check the shocks or for that matter the compressor to see if it's working

first, is the vehicle level??

do a bounce test. 1 and 1/2 oscillations are the norm. anymore and the shocks are done.

are they original shocks??
