i have a 04 escalade . i was driving it when all the lights on the dash came on . i shut off the truck and it would not restart . i put a new starter in it and now when i try to hook up the battery the truck tries to start . i also have a remote starter in it witch i disconected . not sure what to do now . still doing the same thing .

Disconnect the small lead from the solenoid, with the battery disconnected of course, and reconnect the battery. If it still tries to crank you have a faulty starter(shorted solenoid). If it does not, you have an issue that is firing a signal to engage the starter.
