my car is burning oil between oil changes i have to add a few quarts and i use high mileage oil i dont have a oil leak

Do you ever see blue smoke coming from the exhaust pipe? (if so, oil is entering the combustion chamber---either because of bad rings, valve seal or a leaking intake manifold gasket.
