I from time to time smell coolant when I am in my car and there appears to be a sloshing sound coming from the dash however the car deosnt seem to use an excessive amount of coolant/water. I have noticed the temperature guage on the electronic side will go up to around 210 or so the dummy gauge never shows it as over heating should i be concerned. The heater works seems to work fine. I cant find any water leaks in and around the engine

Based on what you described, my first guess is you have a small leak in the heater core. It is under the dash on the passenger side.
