Our LeSabre makes a strange moaning noise within about 30 seconds of starting the car, it comes from the rear. While driving it will make the noise for short spurts or as long as 30 seconds or so. Someone told us it was the electric fuel pump, someone else told us it was a leveling noise. But it will make the noise even when nothing needs to be leveled out (no one gets in or out of the car, we're just sitting there not moving). What is this noise?? and should I be concerned about it?

It is most likely your LOAD LEVELER air pump. It will cycle on & off if you have a small leak in either your rear air shocks or one of the lines. I had the same problem and rather than spending the money to replace the rear shocks etc, I just disconnected the leveler pump. This was a while back, & unfortunately I don't remember exactly where the connector was, but it seems like it was under the right rear fender.

I think you're right Gary in Arizona. Someone the other day that had Buicks in the past suggested that it might be the load leveler. I did find that feature in the manual. I don't think it's a real bad problem right now, but if it gets worse I will keep your suggestion in mind. Thanks!!
