X5 was running great last night on the way home it just cut off starts then cuts off again no power when it starts to move. Wife started driving 3 or 4 weeks ago , think she was putting 87 octane instead of 93 would that be the problem

Fuel quality won't have an affect such as what you're experiencing, the fault(s) needs to be extracted with an OBDII reader and then we can take the appropriate actions
