04 BMW five series.the red bobbing coolant gauge snapped and a piece of the plastic gauge fell into the coolant bottle. I went to get a tweezers but when I came back it had gone out of sight. No way I can get it out. Is this a danger to the coolant system ?

No, it is not. The part is too big to get out of the coolant bottle and since it floats, it would not get anywhere. If you wait a while, it might float to where it is visible and you can get it out.
