when driving my oil light keeps coming on, why is this? when i stop the car and shut off the ignition the light goes off after a few seconds then continue with my journey the light will then re appear, i am wondering why this is before i take it to my mechanic

Is it yellow or red? If its yellow, it just means the oil level indicator is in need of replacement, it can be ignored.

I would if it were mine, just be aware of the oil level mate.
