Generic scan tools might not show all stored codes or talk with all the modules in the vehicle. The best
Aftermarket scan tool that is close to Dealer Capacity is: VCDS from www. Ross-tech. Com (PC based).

I made my own video of the location a few days ago... this is on a A4 Jetta like yours, but a 2006 Model.
