Hi,
I have 2003 VW Passat SW that needed to change the axles/housings as they were corroded.
The mechanic made the change but after we picked up the car we noticed the speedometer and odometer not working at all, and the gas gauge fluctuating wildly at every turn.

Could there have been some interference during the job, or would these items be completely unrelated ?

thanks

The speed sensor is mounted behind the left driveshaft flange on
the transmission... it could be that the sensor was disconnected
during axle removal (to prevent damage to connector) and not plugged
back in.
