More than like the issue is with the latch. When you try to close the trunk does it not close all meaning it just bounces off the striker?

If that is the case, then we need to replace the latch.

I am attaching the process below on how to do that.

This guide is for a door that does not close, and it covers the same basic info because this is most likely an issue with the latch.
