I have a 2003 vw jetta. A/C was working then stopped for about 30 minutes, then started working for about an hour and then just started blowing hot air. Car is not over heating. Refrig levels are fine. I changed the expasion valve. The fan and compressure clutch are not engaging so I changed the pressure switch. Still continues to blow hot air. I jumped the clutch and it worked but I still did not get any cold air. The fan still did not kick on. Fuses are ok. Now I am stuck and do not want to take to a shop.

If the compressor is kicking on when you jump it but not creating cold air, there has to be something plugged in the system. As far as the compressor not turning on, have you checked the AC cycle switch?

Check the fuse block on top of the battery. You have 3 green fuses in that fuse block. The green fuse that is furthest to the passenger side, controls your a.C/fans. Wiggle it down with the a/c activated, look at the fans. Do they come on? Is that one particular fuse have any burn marks or white marks on it? If so, replace the whole fuse unit.

If not, test the fan control module which is beneath the battery tray on the driver side.
