Guys first off thanks for your time, and God bless you for your website,
I recently purchased a used 03 tundra, with the check engine light on ( I know I messed up ) and two quarts of tranny fluid were missing so I refilled, I trusted it was a toyota so my mistake. In the scanner it came with PO756, bad solenoid performance, or open circuit, on the troubleshooting guide, says to check valve operation, and if its ok to check valve assembly, and if ok to REPLACE or REBUILT tranny, the car shifts smooth and fine, from 1 to 3rd, the only problem is that if you push the O/D button, it doesnt do anything, you just hear a slight rev up and the revs dont come down to the normal 2000 rpm mark letting you know that 4th gear is engaged, one important issue that this truck has a severe electrical problem which I dont know if its causing the computer to mess up or something. ( Strange noised under the dash ) which I presume is completely aside from the code. Guys a hand please im scared to death, for it to be a tranny replacement or rebuild. Truck is already in the shop, and there gonna check the solenoid tomorrow, but my main question is? Could the tranny be already destroyed or something? What can I expect to hear?

If there are electrical issues, it could be causing the problem itself. However, there other items in the trans that can cause the OD to not function properly. It could be a pressure issue, bad TCC (torque converter clutch), or a solenoid issue. If the trans shifts fine other than the OD, my guess is they will find a problem with the solenoid.
