I had to make a panic stop to avoid hitting a deer while traveling with my cruise control set at 60 mph, locking up my brakes. I managed to avoid the deer, but now my cruise control will not engage, and my brake lights won't go out, even when I turn off the ignition. Any ideas?

Chances are when you hit the brakes really hard, the brake light switch went out of adjustment and is keeping the brake lights on. As long as the brake lights are on, the CC will not work.
