i took it to get smog checked and it gave me the codes p0117 ect ckt low input and p0420 car efficiencybelow threshold (blank 1)

how do i fix my car when it gives me the codes p0117 ect ckt low input after i scanned it?

420 is a cat code. most likely has to be replaced as it is worn out.
117 may be a thermostat but needs to be verified by a tech with a scan tool to see the actual temp.
