I ride a toyota corolla ( Indian - Model ) . Yr of mfg:2003, 1.8 E . i hear a screeching noise from the front left disc break unit. i have found out that the disc spring plate has sheared on the top side and it is getting rubbed diametrical side of the rotating disc. Can any one suggest if i can ride the car before fixing the issue..

That is the brake pad wear indicator and if the pads wears out completely, you are going to need to replace the rotor as well.

This is a safety concern and you should not delay getting it rectified.
