2003 Toyota 4runner Replaced Shifter Assembly On 4wd Won T Into D Shifts

Replaced the shifter assembly on 4wd 2003 4runner and it won't go into "D"...shifts into other gears no problem...the adjustment procedures weren followed as per ALLDATA instructions...any clue why?

You could have a problem with the transmission, shift range switch or the shifter is the wrong part.
