YOU ARE SORTA GOING ABOUT THE DIY IN THE RIGHT WAY
SOME HANDS ON OF DOING WORK LIKE THIS IN THE PAST, IS EVER SO HELPFUL
THIS IS A VERY INVOLVED TASK FOR A 1ST TIMER. THINGS LIKE UNDERSTANDING TORQUE AND TORQUE SEQUENCE AND HAVING THE PROPER TOOLS TO DO IT----ALIGNMENTS AND INSTALLING TIMING COMPONENTSTHE HEAD MAY NEED TO GO TO A MACHINE SHOP FOR SHAVING/ TESTING
I GOT MY DIY START HANGING OUT WITH THE OLDER HIGH SCHOOL BOYS---THEN HIGH SCHOOL AUTO SHOP (2 YEARS) AS WELL AS HIGH SCHOOL MACHINE SHOP( 2 YEARS) WHICH GAVE ME MY 1ST APPRECIATION OF "TOLERANCES" (CORRECT FITTING OF ONE PART TO ANOTHER)
I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL BEFORE COMPUTERS TOOK OVER CARS---MY DAILY DRIVERS ARE A 1977 CJ 5 AND A 1946 WILLYS JEEP. THEY ARE "6" AND "7".1-5 WERE CJ 5s ALSO.I AIN'T OWNED NOTHING BUT, SINCE I WAS ALLOWED ON THE ASPHALT IN 1981
I HAVE LEARNED MIGHT NEAR EVERYTHING ABOUT A CJ OVER THE YEARS, COUPLED WITH "HAVING TO WORK ON" OTHER VEHICLES I'VE FOR MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS
THE BEST THING GOING FOR ME WAS "MANUALS". IF I DID'NT UNDERSTAND A PROCEDURE, I'D "BOTHER" SOMEONE AT A SHOP TO SHOW ME THE LIGHT!
GOT "YOU TUBE" NOW-A-DAYS. CHANGE MY SEARCH CRITERIA, YOU MIGHT GET OTHER RESULTS
EVEN WATCHING A PROCEDURE ON YOU TUBE, CONCERNING ANOTHER VEHICLE MAY HELP YOU UNDERSTAND A "HOW TO" ---WHEN YOU SEEM TO BE LOST
HERE'S SOME OF MY STUFF
THE BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE YOU IN THIS SITUATION IS:
1ST GET YOU A JEEP CJ!
2ND. GO FOR IT. JUMP ON INTO YOUR MISSION WITH BOTH FEET!
