Hi, got a question about the temp gauge on the 2003 wrx turbo. We did some work to the car,new head gaskets, water pump, thermostat, turbo, injectors, oil pump, temp and oil sensor and inner cooler. Everything seem to fine except for the temp gauge. When you start the car the temp. gauge climbs quick and shows max on gauge but when I get the live data for the obdII port the temp is normal. So I figured the new sensor was bad so I replaced it with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the gauge itself. Ensure the ground circuit is good.
Was problem there before the work?
Does unplugging the sending unit makes any difference?
