2003 sport trac growling noise in 4x4 only

Sounds like front wheel bearing noise only happens in 4x4,checked transfer case is fine, rebuilt frt drive shaft,noise still there I know its not wheel bearing it only occurs in 4x4 its louder under excel leration
and gets quite when you let off gas

Have you checked all differential bearings including the input shaft?

My GUESS (without being there) is you have a bad carrier bearing in the differential.
