How do I know if the oil pressure switch is faulty?

It won't start. It will try to start but die. After a while it will finally kick over.

Remove switch and fit a mechanical gauge, if oil pressure is ok, switch or wiring will be faulty if light is staying on, if hard to start, check all tune items, and check fuel pressure and codes as well, start here.

The oil pressure switch will not prevent it from starting, nor will it even cause a long crank. It's not tied into the operating system in any way.

Just to add to this one wrenchtech is right those cars are known for bad ignition switches causing no starts.I have replaced a ton of those switches for that with those symptoms. Especailly when the temp is bellow 40 degrees. So when it doesnt start is the security light on solid or flashing?
