Hood strut failure

How do you replace the hood strut?

The hood strut is nothing more than a ball and socket set up. There is a small steel clip that needs slid off for the strut to come off. Look closely where it mounts. I believe yours is a horseshoe shaped clip. With a small screwdriver, remove the clip and then the strut will come apart. Please make sure to have the hood safely propped up so it doesn't fall down on you when you disconnect the strut.
