I have a 2003 Pontiac Montana, and the engine is shaking pretty good and we were getting a code for cylinder 6 misfiring so we replaced the plug and wire and found that the plug had oil on it from the inside. Its not staling anymore but it does have some white smoke from the exhaust here and there and is still shaking and the code is back and the engine light is flashing now. So my question is what could be wrong?

Start with a compression test. Then a leak down test to verify a head gasket for the white smoke.

Check for spark to the plug. Last, check for the injector to be working.

A compression tester and a leak down tester. You can rent these from a parts store.
