how to get around the exhaust manifold

the exhaust manifold "that's what I think it is" is covering the bolts to the thermostat housing and ive never fooled with any exhausts but I am mechanically inclined,and if I don't have to take it apart that would be awesome. Thanks

CAN YOU SEND NICE, IN FOCUS PICS?......MAYBE POINT WITH A PENCIL OR SOMETHING AT THE BOLTS YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCESS
