push rod bent

My mechanic charged me $900 for head gaskets, one week later I had a push rod bent, and rocker arms bolt threads stripped but they didn't look stripped to me is this a fair price or is he ripping me out of my money? loud ticking and or knocking coming from engine.

It sounds like they left it loose and now want you to pay the bill, this is want give mechanics a bad name, though there are many good guys out there,, they don't seem like one of them.
