Hello,
I have a 2003 Pontiac GrandAm. Today, about an hour after I got home, the headlights started flashing on and off (amber color)while the car was sitting in the garage. I did not check the instrument panel for any other signs, unfortunately. I started the car, turned on the flashers once and turned them off (they worked fine), turned the headlights to on and then back to auto, and turned the car off. Once I shut it off, the headlights flashed again once. Any ideas? Your help is so appreciated because it's the only vehicle I have and I'm a single female. Thank you.

System has self diagnostics and a scan tool is required to check for trouble codes. Get a scan done and let me know if any trouble codes are found.

The scan would require taking it to a garage, which is what I am going to do, but I was hoping you could give me some insight as to what it possibly could be before I take it there.

You can get a free scan at parts outlets such as Autozone or Advance Auto but not all code readers can perform the job so you have to be aware of this.

The possibilities are too vast and a scan would help to narrow down things.

Such problems are mostly due to control module faults and the scan would enable us to get to the source rather than going through everything.

Thanks. It was the body control module that was bad.
