2003 Pontiac Aztek Dash Completely Dark Headlights Come On Automatically Dusk

Dash goes completely dark when headlights come on automatically at dusk. all bulbs in dash cluster are good. Also the digital readout below the speedometer will only show dashes instead of driver information. Is there a logical fix to this or is it going to be an electrical troubleshooting nightmare? Also, the dimmer switch is turned all the way up.

how do you know the bulbs are good if they dont work????

it sounds more like a cluster failure.
