Engine noise - please help!

My '03 Nissan Altima is making a hissing / rattling sound coming from the engine. It is not constant. Goes for about 10 - 20 seconds at a time, mostly when I am accelerating or coasting but not when braking. Any idea what is going on? Any advice is much appreciated!

Noise problems are something online mechanics can't do much. You need to locate the source of the noise before we are of any help.
