2003 Mitsubishi Pajero gearbox

My gearbox just doesn't wane work at all put the computer on could not detect any problems simply just stalled found reverse drove the car for about 15km and then nothing a mechanic told me it would cost R15.000 to repair I find this hard to believe please advise

If your mechanic knows how much it will cost, he must know what the problem is, so get that info from him and post it here for more assistance. (For that cost he must be simply replacing the transmission).
