I have an automatic 2003 Eclipse Gt. No engine light on but I believe I'm running rich on fuel (Averaging 13mpg). I have a faint white(may be gray) smoke coming out of the exhaust during idle. I can definitely smell the fuel. Not sure if it does the same thing while I'm driving. My coolant and oil level are staying the same. Also everything else seems to be running smoothly. I got the car a few weeks ago so I'm not sure if there was any loss of power. But I have owned other 6 cylinders and this one seems to be lacking power.

Probable causes of an engine running rich are as follows:

1. Excessive fuel pressure can be cause by restricted fuel return line
2. Defective Oxygen Sensors.
3. Leaking injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
4. Coolant temperature sensor out of calibration.
5. Restricted air intake system.
