My 2003 mitsubishi eclipse keeps burning one of the ignition coil. I have replaced the bad coil already and I cant drive the car for very long because the replaced coil gets to hot and the car starts losing its power so I just turn the car off so I don't fry that coil either. I have checked the voltage regulator and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I really need some help with this one.

Hi Cope,

This happens when one of the coil drivers inside the ECM is failing and holding the driver on making the coil go bad. You will need shop to program it for you.

Here is the location diagrams (below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken
