Is it dangerous to run the car while the broken dip stick part still in tube?

I just broke my engine oil dip stick while trying to check my engine oil level and the most of the part (about 6") still left in the dip stick tube. Is it dangerous to run the car while broken part of the dip stick still in the tube?Does it can harm my engine?

if it falls in the pan and gets caught up in the crank, yes.

get it somewhere that can remove the broken piece for you.
