My 2003 Mini Cooper's washer fluid tank won't hold water. I'm told its a washer pump seal ring (PN 11121485838). Is this hard to replace? How can I get panel off the car?

The washer fluid bottle is secured to the inner fender panel with one or two bolts. Disconnect the wiring and fluid lines to the container, remove the bolts, and remove the container. The pump assembly should either snap out or unscrew, allowing you to replace the O-ring.

The fender panel doesn't come off. Or, shouldn't need to.

Its the O-ring, I'm told. Is this available "ala carte" or does one need to purchase the pump assembly.

You can usually buy that from a decent auto parts store. Bring it with you and have them let you look their O-ring bin/box/container.
