My Master window switch shorted out yesterday due to water. So i unplugged it and took it out for a day. The following day I then start my car and then try to plug the broken window switch back in and the minute I plug it in my car shuts off. Power is still going to the car but the engine wont cut on or do anything at all. Could this just be a safety feature? Would disconnecting my battery then connecting it back again possibly fix the problem.

I have to be honest, I can't think of the relationship between the two issues. If the switch is bad, it should blow a fuse and thats it, Have you tried installing a new switch?
